Split...Dalmacija... I can freely say home away from home !!!
Ok, after an amazing nine days in Kotor, road took me in the heart of Dalmatia ... in Split. I do not know how I would briefly describe Split ...
It is a city where old meets new ... the city where you will see beautiful girls ... where you will eat the most amazing seafood and listen to some extraordinary tunes, one that your ear can even imagine.
Split is the second-largest city of Croatia, after capital city Zagreb, with population of about 200 000. It is one of the oldest cities in the area. Although the beginnings of Split are traditionally associated with the construction of Diocletian's Palace in 305 CE, the city was founded in the 4th century BCE as the Greek colony of Aspálathos, or Spálathos.

Old town impresses me over and over again. Every year I come to Split and always discover something new, a new alley, some new restaurant ... it really is magical !!!
At the heart of the old town there is Diocletian's Palace, and next to it the stand's Cathedral of St. Duje, who is considered as protector of the city.

My favorite place in Split definitely is Piazza. At the very heart of the old town, full of cafes and restaurants in which you can sit and soak up the environment completely, for me, it's just magical.
What you definitely need to visit is the statue of Grgur Ninski. It is believed that if you touch his toe, it will fulfill your all desires, and you will be happy.
In front of the palace stands the impressive waterfront. It is compulsory place for you to drink coffee... to be seen, and to see :)
This is one of those cities that you simply must visit. Whether you're just passing through or planning to spend the summer here, I'm sure you'll love this amazing city.

Stari grad me iznova i iznova oduševljava.
